Construct 2 - Fade Transitions (Free Capx)

This video covers the basics of creating a Fade Transition between Layouts in Construct 2, the HTML5 game creation software.

In this video I demonstrate how to create a Fade transition between Layouts using buttons. Building up from simply changing layouts to having a fade in and fade out transition.

The fade transition requires that each layout has an opaque (non transparent) back top layer which is acted upon. When the layout starts the opacity setting of this layer is reduced. When the user chooses to change layout, then the opacity setting of the fade transition increases. This results in a nice and easy fading transition.

The Function Object is discussed in this video as well as, the use of activating and deactivation Groups in the event sheet.

A free Capx file has been made available to download to help demonstrate the effect.
